Dr. Toy is originally from South Africa but calls California home. In his prior careers, he worked in the world of theatre, however his passion for health and healing led him to Chinese Medicine. He has a Doctorate of Clinical Philosophy from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. He has advanced training in Dermatology and is certified by the International TCM Dermatology Association. He is the only doctor to hold this certification in the greater Sacramento Area.

Prior to joining Winding River Medicine, Dr. Toy treated patients aboard cruise ships which took him to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Asia, Australia and Alaska. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, scuba diving and being in nature.
