Pain Management & Sports Medicine
Chinese Medicine is very effective for treating physical issues, whether they are painful or not. A recent injury, a long-term issue, or even just tight muscles can all be treated. Chinese Medicine reduces inflammation, promotes circulation, releases endorphins to decrease pain and stimulates tissue growth and repair to fix the underlying problem.

Winding River Medicine is the acupuncture referral location for Sutter Orthopedics department.

In the American Journal of Emergency Medicine, a study of 300 patients with acute pain were given a common pain medication used in the emergency room or acupuncture. The group that received acupuncture was found to have a higher likelihood of pain relief which also occurred faster than the medication with significantly lower side effects.
92% of the Acupuncture group had pain relief.
Trigger Point Acupuncture
Trigger Point Acupuncture is for releasing tight muscles, knots or bands causing pain or discomfort. Acupuncture needles are used to stimulate the muscle to quickly release. Treatment increases circulation, reduces inflammation and can yield faster results for certain types of pain.

Patients interested in this therapy should see Dr. Taca, who has advanced training in Trigger Point Acupuncture.
